NetEvents 2007 'Technology Leader' Awards Europe IN AID OF CANCER RESEARCH We are pleased to announce these awards have raised over $32,000 – this is to be shared between the American Cancer Society and the Prostate Project Foundation for Cancer Research.

Finalists: TippingPoint, Force10 Networks In this particular category for 'Security Product of the Year' the judges included industry analysts EuroLAN Research, Quocirca; and journalists from Network Computing (Germany), Telekommunikation (Denmark) and CRN (Netherlands). On presenting the award Keith Humphreys, Managing Consultant of EuroLAN Research said "Sourcefire was the leader in the SNORT open-source project but has taken this further by identifying the majority of signatures itself and is now the definitive IPS solution." Finalists:Pro Curve Networking by HP, Strix Systems In this particular category for "Wireless Product of the Year," the judges included industry analysts from Disruptive Technologies and Quocirca as well as journalists from Comms Business Magazine (UK), News Wireless Net (UK), Telekommunikation (Denmark), Telecommagazine (Netherlands), VON Magazine (Europe) and Alt om DATA (Denmark). On presenting the award Dean Bubley, Analyst & Founder at Disruptive Analysis added that “There is a growing demand from enterprises to gain greater control over their cellphone-equipped employees, both to minimise costs and optimise productivity gains associated with mobility. As a result, there is a significant opportunity for vendors enabling fixed-mobile convergence – typically through the integration of mobile handsets and PBXs, often using dual-mode cellular/WiFi phones to take advantage of existing in-building WLAN installations.” IP Telephony Product of the Year 2007

On presenting the award Hans Steeman from Telecommagazine added that “Avaya’s Quick Edition embeds IP-PBX functionality into IP phones, eliminating the need for a separate server. The Avaya Quick Edition offers a great introduction to the benefits of IP telephony for the smaller user from SOHO through to around 20 users.” Enterprise Product of the Year 2007
